Job Description

This in-office role requires the skills of a Bookkeeper with a strong focus on HR (staff management experience).  You need a solid grasp of numbers and ideally Bookkeeping experience. The role is broad in that your attention will be stretched across accounting, office and staff / HR management.  The suitable candidate will be responsible for the HR function across +/- 100 employees as well as supporting and reporting to 2 directors. You will manage a team of 6 people.  

Responsibilities:

All Accounting related for the trading company and property company (as well as 3 small companies):
Preparing VAT, eFiling, provisional tax calculations
Payments (monthly / daily)
Books to trial balance
Manage team of 6 – hands on – ensuring all duties are attended to correctly
 
Credit insurance:
Experience of working with insured debtors – or rules to be learnt.

Forex:
Training could be given by the bank but basic knowledge is required.
 

Staff management skills and all HR related for all other employees.
Knowledge of BCEA, knowledge of labour law is preferred. You will be working with/have access to a labour consultant to support and guide you, but basic warnings and offences will be handled directly by you.
Responsible for contracts and related HR documents.

Requirements

Must have at least 5 years' experience in / knowledge of:


  • Sage VIP and Pastel Partner experience essential
  • WSP/ATR Workplace Skills Plan & annual training – monthly training records, annual submission
  • Initial quick training may be given – the incumbent will have to do further training as SDF
  • ROE (Return of Earnings)
  • WCA & IOD
  • SARS eFiling: EMP501 bi-annual & Annual Recons
  • Employment Equity Reporting
